Hello friends! Welcome back to Rooted in Grace. I hope you're all doing well and feeling blessed today. I wanted to talk about those times when we wake up in the middle of the night. You know, those moments when you suddenly find yourself wide awake at 3 AM, staring at the ceiling, wondering why you can't just sleep through the night.

For the longest time, I used to get so frustrated when this happened to me. I thought, "Why can't I ever get a good night's sleep?" I'd toss and turn, stressing about how tired I would be in the morning. But then, something amazing happened – I realized that maybe, just maybe, it wasn't just a random wake-up call. Perhaps it was God trying to get my attention.

Have you ever thought about that? That maybe when you wake up in the middle of the night, it's actually God wanting to have a moment with you? When everything is quiet and there are no distractions, it's just you and God. It's a perfect time for Him to speak to your heart.

In 1 Samuel 3:10 (NLT), it says, "And the Lord came and called as before, 'Samuel! Samuel!' And Samuel replied, 'Speak, your servant is listening.'" Samuel was just a boy, lying in bed when God called out to him in the middle of the night. It took a few times for Samuel to realize it was God speaking, but once he did, he responded with an open heart and a willingness to listen.

I've started to look at those nighttime wake-ups in a whole new light. Instead of getting frustrated, I now see them as divine appointments. I take those quiet moments to pray, to pour out my heart to God, and to listen for His still, small voice. It's not always easy, and I'm still learning how to "hear" God, but just knowing that He's there, wanting to connect with me, makes such a difference.

When you find yourself awake in the middle of the night, I encourage you to take a moment to pray. Talk to God about what's on your mind, your worries, your hopes, and your dreams. Ask Him what He wants to say to you. Sometimes, it's not about hearing an audible voice, but rather feeling a sense of peace, guidance, or a gentle nudge in your spirit.

I've found that these moments have become some of the most precious times of my day. Instead of dreading those wake-up calls, I now embrace them as opportunities to grow closer to my Heavenly Father. And you know what? Once I've spent that time in prayer, I often drift back to sleep feeling more peaceful and rested.

So next time you wake up in the middle of the night, remember that it might just be God wanting to spend some quiet time with you. Open your heart, start a conversation, and see where He leads you. Trust me, those moments can become some of the most beautiful and meaningful times in your walk with God.

Blessings to you all, and may you always find joy and peace in the presence of our loving Heavenly Father.

With Love and Grace,

Sarah Jo
